The future of Kolkata’s mishti (Bengali sweets) is in safe hands. Lahana Ghosh of Jugal’s Sweets

Lahana Ghosh belongs to the third generation of the family behind the Jugal Sweets. Having studied and then worked in Canada, she is a Canadian citizen. She returned to her native Kolkata when her father was down with the covid 19 virus. There was literally no going back for her from there. She stayed on in Kolkata, and worked on modernising the mishti making process while retaining its heart. The business turned 100 this year and Lahana curated the world’s first ‘Mishti Literary Festival.’ Listen to this episode to hear what keeps this powerhouse going. Apart from mishti of course!
