Largest Franchisees in the Firehouse Subs System Open Newest Restaurant in Myrtle BeachMyrtle Beach, SC  (RestaurantNews.comFirehouse Subs® is pleased to announce the grand opening of its newest Myrtle Beach restaurant. Located at 148 Sapwood Road, the restaurant is owned by the largest franchisees in the Firehouse Subs system, Larry Chandler and Jody Chandler.

Since Larry Chandler joined the brand in 2004, followed by his nephew, Jody Chandler, in 2006, the duo has opened 37 Firehouse Subs restaurants throughout South Carolina and North Carolina. With more than 50 years of combined restaurant experience, Larry and Jody are known for their devout commitment to operating excellent restaurants and providing ample development opportunities to hundreds of team members.

“We are excited to bring the indulgent flavors of Firehouse Subs to a new part of town at Marketplace at the Mill,” said Larry Chandler. “Every new restaurant Jody and I open gives us the opportunity to raise more funds for local first responder heroes thanks to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.”

The Marketplace at The Mill Firehouse Subs restaurant opens at 10:30 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m., seven days a week. The restaurant offers hot specialty subs, piled high with premium meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh daily in-restaurant and steamed together to bring out the ingredients’ natural flavors.

Founded by former firefighting brothers, the restaurant décor reflects the founding family’s decades of fire and police service with gear and photos donated by local fire departments. A custom mural unique to its community and the restaurant owners is hand-painted by Chief Mural Officer Joe Puskas for each new Firehouse Subs location. The latest piece for the Marketplace at The Mill restaurant is no exception, depicting popular sports team mascots Sir Purr and Chauncey dressed as firefighters next to a local fire truck with the Carolina Forest welcome sign in the background.

The Chandlers are dedicated to the brand’s commitment of giving back through Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which has granted more than $548,000  to first responders and public safety organizations in greater Myrtle Beach. A portion of every purchase at any Firehouse Subs in the U.S. benefits the Foundation, which provides lifesaving equipment and resources to first responders and public safety organizations across the country.

Guests interested in supporting the mission of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation can purchase recycled five-gallon pickle buckets for a $3 donation, donate spare change or “round up” their bill to the nearest dollar. All funds raised benefit the Foundation.
