The Watch Kitchen & Spirits to Bring Lowcountry Flavor to Asheville

Charleston Favorite to Debut in Downtown Asheville This Valentine’s Day Weekend

Asheville, NC  (RestaurantNews.comThe Watch Kitchen & Spirits, known for its Southern cuisine and craft drinks, is set to open its second-ever location in downtown Asheville on Thursday, February 13. Known for its bold Lowcountry flavors and inviting atmosphere, The Watch will replace The Exchange Restaurant & Bar on the ground floor of The Restoration Asheville. This new location builds on the success of The Watch at The Restoration’s flagship hotel in Charleston, where it serves as the hotel’s signature rooftop restaurant.

Located on Patton Avenue with views overlooking Pritchard Park, The Watch will feature distinct bar, restaurant, and lounge areas, including a new private dining room for up to 40 guests, creating a comfortable setting for everything from relaxed lunches to celebratory gatherings. The space also offers an outdoor patio with a unique view of Asheville’s iconic Friday night drum circle, adding to the lively atmosphere as guests enjoy fresh, regional dishes and signature drinks.

The menu at The Watch will highlight high quality ingredients and creative twists on Southern comfort classics. The bar menu will include beer flights, an expansive selection of whiskey and bourbon, and playful cocktails such as the Pebbles & Bamm Bamm — a nostalgic mix of Fruity Pebbles, vodka, sloe gin, Italicus, port wine, citrus, and cream — alongside refreshing mocktails such as the Cranberry No-jito and Blueberry Spark. The food menu, crafted by Chef Daniel Nightengale, will feature signature favorites from the Charleston flagship like the Crispy Chicken Sandwich with Alabama white sauce, Seared Crab Cakes with orzo and Cajun remoulade, Grilled Chicken & Pimento Cheese Nachos, and the Shrimp & Chorizo Bowl made with Charleston Gold Rice.

“The Watch has become a favorite in Charleston for its bold Lowcountry flavors and welcoming atmosphere,” said Chef Nightengale. “We’re excited to bring that same experience to Asheville. Our goal is to bring authentic Southern food and hospitality to a city that already has such an amazing food scene.”

The restaurant is set to open on Thursday, February 13, just in time for Valentine’s Day weekend. On Valentine’s Day, guests can enjoy a special dinner plate: seafood bouillabaisse over linguine with toasted bread points. The Valentine’s Day celebration also includes a complimentary champagne toast upon arrival and petit fours as a parting treat. The full menu will also be available.
