It’s giving summer in January! Or at least that’s what Katy Perry’s new favorite mocktail is called. If you’re attempting dry January, or you have been living a low-alcohol or no-alcohol lifestyle, then you may be familiar with Katy Perry’s zero-proof aperitif line, Dei Soi. For a while now, Dei Soi has had three signature aperitif flavors on the market, and recently a new flavor was added to the mix: Très Rosé, a take on a classic glass of rosé!

“This drink is perfect to unwind and relax during dry January and will make you feel like you’re on a tropical vacation (even though you might be cooped up on your couch),” Perry tells The Kitchn. “Très Rosé is my go-to with its tart, but fruity palate that reminds me of a crisp, dry rosé. The layers of raspberry and rooibos pair super nicely with the blood orange bitters in this cocktail… This recipe is perfect for anyone looking to get their buzz on without the booze.”

While Très Rosé is certainly tasty enough to sip on its own, Katy Perry and the team at Dei Soi decided to also whip up a zero-proof mocktail that is perfect for your dry January lifestyle. So of course, we had to give it a try.

How to Make Katy Perry’s De Soi Mocktail

Dice 4 medium-sized strawberries. Place them in a cocktail shaker and muddle them until they are a thick, juicy slurry.

Add 3/4 ounce of elderflower syrup, 3/4 ounce lemon juice, 3 dashes of blood orange bitters, and 3 ounces of Dei Soi Très Rosé. Using a long cocktail spoon, stir the ingredients for at least 10 seconds.

Add ice to your glass of choice. Strain your drink into the glass over ice. (Straining it will keep that extra strawberry pulp out.)

For a girl who loves a good cocktail, I have to admit, this mocktail is tasty. It’s sweet, it’s sour, it’s bitter (but not too bitter), and essentially everything I like in an end-of-the-day drink.

This mocktail tastes just as bright and colorful as it looks — like summer in the middle of January. The use of strawberries with this aperitif is the perfect pairing, and the use of elderflower syrup thankfully doesn’t make this drink too sweet. I also added in a garnish, and the acid from the slices of blood orange really accentuated the flavor of this drink.

I honestly think that this drink might be in my regular rotation; I especially love that it’s a mocktail, which means it’s really the best kind of drink to have during a weeknight.
