Fairfax Gets Fresh With New South Block Spot Opening Jan. 18
Nutritious, fast-casual brand brings good vibes to Fairfax with grand opening block party, Chloe Ricketts appearance, free açai bowls, giveaways and more
Washington, DC (RestaurantNews.com) South Block, the fast-casual chain known for its açai bowls, smoothies and cold-pressed juices, is set to open a new location in Fairfax on Jan. 18. This marks a significant milestone in its mission to spread good vibes, focus on community, and provide refreshing products to more fans throughout Northern Virginia.
Located at 9672 Main St., across from Woodson High School, the Fairfax South Block will provide fresh, healthy options for anyone looking to enjoy a nutritious meal. Guests can choose from grab-and-go or made-to-order items, all crafted with quality ingredients to support any diet.
Encapsulating South Block’s vibrant spirit, the new Fairfax location will host a block party at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18 to celebrate the grand opening. The festivities will feature music and giveaways, including free mini açai bowls, exclusive swag for the first 100 guests and a free smoothie offer to be redeemed the week following the opening on the South Block app.
Washington Spirit professional soccer player Chloe Ricketts will make a special appearance at the opening, showcasing her ongoing partnership with the brand. Fans can meet Ricketts as she signs autographs and greets attendees from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This collaboration began in September 2024 and highlights South Block’s commitment to fueling athletes and fans with wholesome, nutritious menu items.
“This opening holds a special place in my heart, because it’s in my own neighborhood where I’ve seen firsthand how places designed to bring communities together can have a lasting impact,” said Amir Mostafavi, CEO and founder. “We’re excited to bring our healthy offerings to a city that’s already buzzing with energy and support from local schools and neighboring retailers — and to have the talented Chloe Ricketts joining us in commemoration.”
South Block Fairfax will operate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily and will mark the beloved açai brand’s 19th location systemwide.
Known as Northern Virginia’s first cold-pressed micro-juicery, South Block has been serving fan favorites like the Super Green Smoothie and iconic Warrior Bowl since 2011. For more information or to find the nearest location, visit SouthBlock.com.
