Check your packaged salads from Costco! If you picked up a pre-packaged mix from your local warehouse recently, then it may be good to know that these salads have been mislabeled, not containing the proper allergy warnings for undeclared ingredients.

According to a notice published by Costco on July 3, a member recently purchased an Ancient Grain + Vegetable Salad at Costco, but the label of the salad was incorrect. The packaged salad mix was actually a Grain + Celery Salad, which contains soy and almonds. Given that the salad was mislabeled, the warning for both of these allergens was not present, which could be detrimental for anyone who has a severe allergy to either of these foods. Costco warns anyone who has these allergies and purchased the Ancient Grain + Vegetable Salad to toss it or return it for a full refund.

The mislabeled salads were sold in 24 locations across these sixteen U.S. states:

Costco tells customers that they can contact the store via phone at 800-774-2678, or stop by the warehouse and talk to an associate. If you shop at Costco regularly, you can keep an eye on any of the recalls where they post them on their website.

If someone with a soy or almond allergy consumes this salad and experiences any symptoms of anaphylaxis like wheezing coughing, swelling throat and/or tongue, hives, dizziness, swollen eyes and mouth, seek medical attention immediately.
