Costco Added a “Delicious” Mini Bakery Item That Has Shoppers Excited
I’ve always loved when a store sells a mini version of my favorite things. Mini bottles of hot sauce to go in my purse (if you know, you know), mini blenders for single-serve smoothies, and of course, miniature-size desserts. So you know when I found out that Costco dropped a mini version of its beloved All-American fudge chocolate cakes, I was instantly drooling — and driving to my local warehouse.
These mini cakes are now available at the Costco bakery for $8.99 per pack. Don’t let the price fool you, it’s still a great deal; each pack contains six miniature cakes, which means each one costs around $1.50 each. (So yes, it’s a steal.) Plus, they may be called “mini” cakes, but they are still massive. I think it’s fair to say that they look slightly larger than a normal cupcake, even if they are shaped in a large cupcake liner with frosting swirled on the top. Each chocolate cake is slathered with a decadent layer of chocolate frosting, then sprinkled with chocolate shavings, just like the original 7-pound All-American cake.
Originally these mini cakes were meant to be a seasonal item, but their insane popularity had Costco slowly bringing them back to stores. So, of course, shoppers are ecstatic to see they are back on shelves, and are stocking up on these mini cakes for a decadent dessert — with a glass of milk, of course.
“These are a must-have; they are delicious,” writes one shopper on @costcohotfinds recent Instagram post. “The best item in the bakery hands down,” writes another.
While it is unclear how long these mini All-American fudge cakes will be on shelves, there seems to be enough shopper interest to hopefully keep them around for a while. Needless to say, in case they do decide to take these off shelves again, you may want to grab a pack and indulge in this decadent dessert while it lasts!
