HomeGoods Is Selling the Most Beautiful $7 “Coastal Grandmother” Kitchen Find
Anyone else in their “coastal grandmother” era? I’m pretty sure I entered it years ago and never left. Growing up in a beach town will do that. You’ll find yourself wanting to buy anything that looks like it’s meant to exist in a cottage by the beach, like soft white quilts, linen pants, and gorgeous blue and white patterned dishes. So when I find something that will fit my forever aesthetic — especially at a discount retailer like HomeGoods — I have to get my hands on it ASAP. And the most recent collection of dishes has me running to stores.
HomeGoods recently posted its collection of dishes on Instagram, and I want every single one. There are melamine serving bowls and plates; two with dark blue tile-like designs (one with a gold trim), and another white bowl with a light and dark blue floral design. There are smaller individual bowls featuring the same colors that you can mix and match. While the prices at HomeGoods vary, most dishes are priced around $5.99 and $7.99 apiece, which is ideal for someone on a budget — especially someone who is a “grandmillennial” like myself.
HomeGoods isn’t selling the bowls online, but you can shop similar plates on the Marshalls website. A set of four melamine coupe plates is only $10!
It seems I’m not the only one freaking out over these dishes, either. Shoppers have flooded the comments on Instagram, stating how “beautiful” these dishes are, and how the white and navy colors are a “classic” for their homes. “I love the colors for my house. Simply beautiful,” wrote one shopper. “The perfect palette,” HomeGoods commented back.
The discount retailer isn’t the only store taking advantage of the coastal grandmother craze right now. Dollar Tree is currently selling sets of elegant blue beach-themed dishes and decor this summer, with pretty blues that could match well with these recent HomeGoods finds.
