Meet the Valley’s BIGGEST, Most OVER-THE-TOP Cinco de Mayo Event: Cinco de Carnival
The epic two-day celebration features live circus acts, DJs, grand prize giveaways, drink specials, authentic Mexican cuisine, and more
Phoenix, AZ (RestaurantNews.com) What has live circus acts, grand prize giveaways, drink specials, live DJ entertainment, authentic Mexican cuisine, and more? The Valley’s biggest and most over-the-top Cinco de Mayo at Barrio Queen! The epic two-day celebration – called Cinco de Carnival – will be celebrated at every one of the Valley’s seven Barrio Queen locations on both Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6.
To get the party going, DJ Veto will be playing electrifying music on Friday from 4-10 p.m. and Saturday from 5-9 p.m. at all Barrio Queen locations. On Friday, attendees can meet and take pictures with a living catrina doll at Desert Ridge from 5-6:30 p.m. and at Tempe from 7-8:30 p.m.
Upping the excitement are circus act performances from fire eaters at Desert Ridge Marketplace from 6:30-7:30 p.m.; Tempe, Gilbert, Queen Creek, Glendale, Avondale from 7-9 p.m.; and Scottsdale from 8:30-9:30 p.m.
Drink specials abound across a variety of cocktails, beers, and tequilas. These include such favorites as the El Jefe (JaJa Blanco Tequila, El Silencio Mezcal, pineapple juice, lemon juice, cinnamon syrup, garnished with a lemon wheel, salt, and pineapple frond) for $13 and the TPC “The Perfect Cocktail (El Bandido Yankee Blanco Tequila, pomegranate juice, agua fresca, lime juice, agave nectar, Ancho Reyes, garnished with black salt, tajin, lime wheel, Chile de Arbol, and hibiscus flower) for $13, the Sonoran Old Fashion (21 Seeds Grapefruit Hibiscus Tequila, Aguamiel Bacanora, Agave Nectar, local grapefruit hibiscus bitters, garnished with a grapefruit twist) for $14, a cerveza pitcher for $20, and a Don Julio Flight (blanco, reposado, añejo) for $20.
Plus, sample specialty handcrafted tequila cocktails from the celebrity favorite – and female-owned – 21 Seeds Tequila brand at the 21 Seeds Tequila Takeover at Desert Ridge Marketplace from 4-6 p.m. And, owner Kat Hantas will make a rare appearance and be greeting guests.
Fun décor will get guests into the party spirit, and Modelo will be onsite printing T-shirts with unique designs created by local artists on Friday in Avondale from 5-7 p.m., Saturday in Scottsdale from 2-4 p.m., and Sunday in Desert Ridge from 5-7 p.m.
And as always at its events, Barrio Queen has incredible giveaways up for grabs. Four lucky guests will win Modelo Bump Boxes, two will win JaJa Tequila bottles autographed by The Chainsmokers, and one guest will win an El Bandido Yankee Tequila Company swag package.
