It’s no secret that Aldi has some fantastic snacks — and for bargain prices, no less. Now, they’re selling a version of one of our favorite flavors of chips: lime. There’s just something about the zesty and salty snack that makes it hard to keep our hands out of the bag. Pair it with a scoop of guacamole, salsa, or hummus, and snack time is about to be taken to a whole other level.
For just $1.95 per bag, Aldi is now selling Clancy’s Hint of Lime Tortilla Chips, ideal for hosting or even just snacking on your own. One of the writers at The Kitchn recently headed over to their local Aldi to try the chip for themselves. “They are great — better than the Tostitos Hint of Lime,” they said. “The lime flavor is about the same as the name brand but the chips have more flavor and are crunchier!”
And that’s all we really want in a chip, right? Plus, they’re not alone. A Reddit thread dedicated to the chips is flooded with comments offering the utmost praise. “Currently writing this as I’m pulling out of the Aldi parking lot with one hand covered in salt-lime dust,” wrote one user. “SO GOOD! A bit sweeter than I thought they’d be, but it’s definitely bringing the warmer weather vibes. Highly recommend!”
“I picked up a bag last week as these are some of my favorite types of chips,” commented another Reddit user. “They are delicious! I should have grabbed another bag today.”
Compared to the Tostitos brand, the Clancy bag is a fraction of the price. Tostitos can retail for upwards of $5 or more, depending on where you buy them. If you’re looking for a delicious and inexpensive snack in a pinch, you may want to give these a try.
