On The Border’s New Summer Menu Celebrates its 2023 Culinary and Mixology Competition Winners

Dallas, TX  (RestaurantNews.com)  On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina, the world’s largest Mexican casual dining brand, is showcasing its new summer menu featuring the Culinary Competition winning items, Texas Grilled Burrito and Mexican Slaw; plus, its Mixology Competition winning drink, Blue Island Cooler. The third annual competition was open to all On The Border team members as a way to inspire creativity and engage employees.

“Our Annual Culinary and Mixology Contest was a huge success,” says Suzie Tsai, vice president of marketing at On The Border. “We love celebrating our long-standing people first culture and great food with our team members.”

• Winner! Texas Grilled Burrito – Texas-sized burrito filled with beef brisket, fries, mixed cheese, On The Border’s Signature Queso, jalapeño-BBQ sauce, pickled jalapeños, and pickled red onions – created by Saul Alonso from West Indy, Ind.
• Winner! Mexican Slaw – Made in-house with sliced cabbage, toasted corn, diced red onions, pickled jalapeños, and tossed in a sweet & tangy dressing – created by Stacy Ramirez from Grandville, Mich.
• Winner! Blue Island Cooler – Bacardí Tropical Rum, blue curaçao, Coco Reàl, pineapple juice, and fresh citrus sour topped with Starry lemon-lime soda – created by Mixology Contest Winner, Kayla Takens from Holland, Mich.
