It’s about to get really, really hot in New York. I’m not particularly fond of 90-degree days in the concrete jungle, and while a respite to the beaches in South Brooklyn sometimes helps, nothing seems to cure the heat more than a tasty frozen dessert. Of course, in a place like New York, the price of an ice cream cone is almost laughable, so I like to find solutions that are cheap while also helping to cool me down during those dog days, which is why I’m pumped about the latest Aldi find that is now in their freezers: Frozen Lemonade Bars.
Back by popular demand, Aldi’s newly dropped Frozen Lemonade Bars come in three flavors: Lemonade, Pink Lemonade, and Strawberry Lemonade. They’re made with lemon juice concentrate and sugar, making them an incredibly light dessert option (that’s also dairy-free and gluten-free!), perfect for cooling off after a hot day outside. The best part? You can snag a box for $2.99, with four bars in each. That means each lemonade bar is less than $0.50 each, which is much cheaper than the $7 cone I typically go for. Talk about seriously saving money this summer!
Customers are pumped about the return of this tasty dessert on Aldi shelves. “These are the best!” writes one customer on Aldi’s recent Instagram post.
Not only are these tasty bars perfect for hot days, but some of the money from buying that box will also go toward a great cause: Every year Aldi partners with Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a nonprofit foundation helping fight childhood cancer. The grocery store is donating $1 million to Alex’s, with the hope of donating a total of $10 million by 2027. This is the grocery chain’s sixth year partnering with the company. Makes snagging a box of this frozen treat a little extra sweet.
