SWAPS

You can easily substitute walnuts for the pecans. If you are not a fan of maple cream cheese frosting, you can add vanilla in place of the maple.

🍽️HOW TO MAKE

This recipe isn’t hard, the most time consuming part is getting out all of your ingredients. I like to have them all out an organized before I start.

COOKING STEPS

Step 1
Cake instructions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and shortening together with a mixer, gradually adding brown and white sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 2
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl, once combined, add to the wet mixture a little at a time, alternating between adding milk too.

Step 3
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl, once combined, add to the wet mixture a little at a time, alternating between adding milk too.

Step 4
Once all is combined add the vanilla extract and the pecans. Pour into two greased 9X5 baking pans and cook for 50 minutes and test for doneness. Pound cakes vary; this took one hour for my oven, so start testing at 50 minutes. Let cook and add frosting.
