Cheez-Its Just Launched a Limited-Edition Flavor That Tastes 100x Better than the Original
Snack favorites are totally subjective, but I think many will agree that Cheez-Its are top-tier. The classic crackers were our Readers’ Choice winner in last year’s The Kitchn’s Grocery Essentials. They are crunchy, cheesy, and savory — and, IMO, they taste better the more you eat them. So when I got the chance to be one of the first to try the newest “ultimate-flavor” combo — Cheez-It x Hidden Valley Ranch Crackers — I immediately said yes.
What You Should Know About Cheez-It x Hidden Valley Ranch Crackers
Now, we love a mash-up here at The Kitchn and many of our editors were excited about this drop. Of course, we’re not the only ones. This collab is actually inspired by Cheez-It superfans! After loads of people made ranch-flavored Cheez-Its, the R&D team got busy on a recipe of their own. (The successful launch of the Hidden Valley Cheezy Ranch may have also contributed to the cause.)
The cheesy baked crackers are sprinkled with a light dusting of Hidden Valley Ranch Seasoning (you know the one). It might not look like a lot, but the flavor is strong (more on that below). The limited-edition flavor comes in the standard fiery red 12.4-ounce box and will be available at stores nationwide starting in July through fall — for now. Like many brands that test new flavors, if the collab is a big hit it may very well become a permanent addition to shelves.
My Honest Review of Cheez-It x Hidden Valley Ranch Crackers
Full disclosure: I signed up to get this box before knowing what the flavor was. Awkwardly enough, I’m not really a fan of ranch. Like I said, flavor is subjective!
Going into this tasting, I was a little apprehensive. I also love Cheez-Its, so I was determined to keep an open mind.
And reader, even for someone who just admitted they don’t even like ranch, these are pretty good! If there was a bowl of these out, I would definitely be snacking on some — and that’s saying a lot. You get that classic cheesy cheddar and the bold zesty flavor of ranch in every bite. It’s salty and savory and will keep you coming back for another handful (or two).
Whether you’re a fan of ranch, Cheez-Its, or both, you’re in for a treat.
